Bairn's Brothers archiveA moving, poignant and often hilarious semi-autobiographical piece by France's most translated and performed dramatist. Set in a country village in the 1950s the play follows the stream of consciousness of a small boy as he discovers what appears to be the crucial elements of his world. At times funny, deeply moving and full of startling insights, Cousse's play has been beautifully translated into semi-rural, period Scots language which conveys the musicality of the original and gives the play a real sense of rootedness.
