In
Apollo's Night, a dark and comic play, the embittered Arthur and his younger, increasingly successful wife, Bianca, are at the tail-end of their marriage. At a dinner party carefully arranged by Bianca, Rose, John and, of course, Jane, Arthur's ex-wife, gather to celebrate the sale of a painting 'Apollo'. Between the five of them, whether they like it or not, their motives for being there, and the morally ambiguous feelings that keep Arthur and Bianca together are exposed for all to see.
