A Monk's Tale archiveThe show is about Martin Luther and is for everyone, even those who aren't sure which Luther we're meant to be celebrating. With a feeling of Horrible Histories and The Reduced Shakespeare Company, "A Monk's Tale" helps the audience understand the unfamiliar medieval mindset, and what exactly Luther was trying to achieve with his 95 Theses (a discussion about Indulgences) and what he actually achieved (schism and Reformation). The show is light, accessible and funny in tone, with lots of visual humour and jokes and as it unfolds, the audience should be entertained, informed and challenged. The aim is to encourage discussion, dialogue and further reading. It is suitable for all ages, young and old, Protestants, Catholics and sceptics alike.
