Details

A children's opera in two acts. The villagers of Woolpit, in mediaeval Suffolk, find two green children, lost and wandering in the woods. Clac, the village spokesman, and his friends lead them to the Manor house of Lady Alice. Initially fearful of the green children, the villagers take them to their hearts. Other communities however, are not so welcoming. Before long the steward's son falls in love with the green girl and she must decide which way to turn. Eventually she reaches a new, deeper sense of what home may mean...tolerance, love and friendship and a shared language.
