Born in South Wales, John Davies now lives in Prestatyn. He has taught poetry in Wales, as well as in Michigan, Washington and as Professor of Poetry at Brigham Young University, Utah. In his work are found the tensions between Welsh and English, past and present, nature and industry, and these tensions challenge our familiar assumptions about Wales. As a poet he draws great sustenance from the area around him in North Wales.
