The Legacy archiveIn 1935 The Legacy Nightclub, a seedy club in the east end of London run by self-proclaimed American jazz 'legend' Benny Washington, burns to the ground in suspicious circumstances. Serial womaniser Benny, who's distinct lack of business skill had brought the club to the brink of bankruptcy, perishes in the fire. Delores, one of the club's dancers, is jailed for arson and her lover, Benny's son Arthur, is left heartbroken but determined to clear Delores' name... Two generations later, in 1985, 'Legacy Fashions', a trendy design house run by Benny's grandson, Gerard, now stands on the site of the old club. In preparation for Milan Fashion Week, and set against a backdrop of one of the deepest economic recessions in a generation, all eyes are on Legacy's new collection which, for Gerard, who appears to have inherited his grandfather's lack of business acumen, is shaping up to be the biggest flop in his family's history. Despite the best attempts of the design team and Gerard's long-suffering PA, Paula, who is already on a mission of love to save Gerard, the family curse appears to be difficult to shake. As usual with Gerard's family, it's the women who have to pick up the pieces. But when a trip down to the basement reveals a beautiful emerald necklace and a far more mysterious presence, a tale of sex, lies, murder and lost love is uncovered. Who is the ghost? Why has she chosen now? What does she want, and could her influence turn around the Legacy fortunes...?
