Details
Based upon Shakespeare's
A Midsummer Night's Dream. It basically uses Shakespearean dialogue, from a variety of his works, interspersed with 31 60's songs. If you've seen Return to The Forbidden Planet you will know the style. With a cast of 20 (10 male and 10 female), a live band, some cracking songs - Dream Baby, Happy Together, Blue Suede Shoes, Halfway to Paradise, One Fine Day, I Only Want To Be With You, Crazy - to name but a few, supported by a high tech lighting rig and computer projected images this promises to be a fun end of season romp. R.L.T. has good track record with musicals and was one of the first, if not the first, societies in the U.K. to perform Return to the Forbidden Planet which was a huge success. The format was recreated by R.L.T. when Peter Wright devised Stand By Me which is based upon King Lear. Get to see it if you can. It will be available to other groups for performance as is Stand By Me
