72Hrs in Moscow archiveSet over three days in the Russian capital during the August Putsch of 1991. On the day of the coup, Inessa Myshkin and Anton Shenin en their three-year-long engagement. She is the head of a community support team, he is the head of a KGB task force policing the capital. However, the circumstances of the coup throws these two former lovers into conflict with each other as their paths continually cross. When Anton discovers the Inessa's brother Andrei has been spying on him for the Americans, he has to make a decision on whether to bring him in, or help them all escape before the family are brought in as "leverage" in Andrei's interrogation. Meanwhile, an armed siege at the radio station "The Echo Of Moscow" leads to a mass public demonstration as the citizens of Moscow all march upon Red Square in a stunning act of civil defiance. Each of these separate threads are all drawn together in an epic conclusion as the finale delivers one of the most ambitious and nerve-wracking set-pieces ever put upon The Maltings' stage. Three days later... nothing would ever be the same.
