Plonter (Yiddish for tangle) marks the first appearance in London for 23 years by Israel's largest theatre company, the Cameri Theatre of Tel Aviv. Created over six months by a company of Israeli Jewish and Arab actors working with writer/director Yael Ronen, Plonter presents the Israeli-Palestinian conflict from the perspectives of both sides. It depicts the pain and frustration, as well as the humour, found in contending with life in the region. Since its premiere in 2005, as well as remaining in the company's repertory, Plonter has played at festivals around the world where it has been enthusiastically received.
