A new Asian version. Set against the oppressive and unstable backdrop of the crumbling Mughal era in India this reworking of Strindberg's classic was conceived by Nadia Ahmad and British Asian designer Rachana Jadhav, founders of Naach Theatre. This colourful and engaging production transposes the fraught original into a new time and space but remains loyal to its atmospheric study of Miss Julie and Jean's relationship.
