National Youth Music Theatre Concert

National Youth Music Theatre Concert

Work:: National Youth Music Theatre Concert (S01977363178)

The National Youth Music Theatre, founded in 1976 by Jeremy James Taylor, celebrates its 35th year with a barnstorming concert by the 2012 Company and featuring some of its illustrious alumni. Over 35 years NYMT has had a huge cast. As well as staging some of the great classics of musical theatre, it has also created a considerable and important body of new music theatre works for performance by young people. NYMT's long list of alumni includes Jude Law, Sheridan Smith, Jonny Lee Miller, Tom Chambers, Lara Pulver, Idris Elba, Gina Beck, Eddie Redmayne, Amy Nuttall, Tom Hollander, Michael Jibson and, of course, Matt Lucas, who comperes this celebration of musical theatre. NYMT represents the very best in work with young people in musical theatre. For 35 years it has enabled thousands of young people aged 11-23 to unlock both their creative and personal potential, leading Andrew Lloyd Webber to describe it as "the best youth music theatre in the world".
