La Fura dels Baus has developed its own special language 'lenguaje furero', which breaks down the barriers between audience and actors by the use of materials such as water, earth, fire and viscera. To a background of dark relentless techno music, Manes explores the themes of birth, life, death and regeneration through ritual games and imagery. The audience, surrounded by the performance are herded, accosted and swept by the cast from scene to scene.
