Resolution! 2015 - RedTape Dance Company/Hannah Buckley/Rachel Burn

Work:: Resolution! 2015 (S0652924475)

Resolution! is The Place's annual festival of new works presented by a range of diverse emerging dance-artists.

Production:: RedTape Dance Company/Hannah Buckley/Rachel Burn (T0849392662)

Pensar e destruir - This piece is named after Fernando Pessoa's poem. Is the process of thinking detrimental to paramount fulfilment? A playful duet stringing together improvisational elements with pre-meditated actions. Woman with Eggs - Via Sophie Calle, a 90 year old woman, and Kate Bush, this is a solo about the ability of women to be many things. Using text, movement and golden eggs Hannah Buckley questions the expectations placed on women in relation to motherhood. Hannah Buckley is a dance artist based in the North of England. She has worked on projects in Europe and the USA, most recently with Alessandro Sciarroni as part of the Venice Biennale. She has an ongoing collaboration with her twin sister, a photographer based in NYC. Happening - Life can sometimes seem to have a life of its own. Witness worlds shifting direction, falling apart and thriving with four dancers, twenty real people's stories ? and hundreds of balloons. Individuals from all walks of life are asked ?How is your life today different from what you had thought it might be?', focusing on a moment when their perspective shifted and they found themselves viewing the world in a new way. Happening is a hands-on and face-to-face piece about and for real people, celebrating the quiet yet significant moments of self-reflection that affect each of our lives, and keep us growing, changing and individual. Duration: 90mins
