Resolution! 2015 - DIPTIK/PINCH/Beautiful Confusion & Interregnum V

Work:: Resolution! 2015 (S0652924475)

Resolution! is The Place's annual festival of new works presented by a range of diverse emerging dance-artists.

Production:: DIPTIK/PINCH/Beautiful Confusion & Interregnum V (T921742522)

Diptik#1 - DIPTIK is blurring the boundaries between dance and music. In an exciting cross-art piece, our performers explore their interpretation of the score both with movement and sound. Choreographed by Katarzyna Witek and composed by Elliot Galvin, this will be a piece of a new and exciting genre, exploring the relationship between the score and the performers, showing how the same signs can be interpreted both in sound and in movement. Musicians and dancers will react to each other intimately, intertwining themselves - musicians pushing the limits of sound while moving, dancers creating and exploring sound as they move. Asking for It - This is a journey into the expression and treatment of female sexuality in contemporary British culture, as two sets of women seek to find the best version of themselves. A piece of dance theatre, Asking For It looks at what it means to come into your fullest potential. Explored through a journey into the expression, treatment and experience of female sexuality in contemporary British culture, told from the perspective of two sets of women. We explore how our relationship to our sexuality impacts on the way people treat themselves and each other. BackStories - Through a series of solos and duets, we explore the expressivity of the back; its capacity to store and articulate personal and social histories. BackStories is conceived, devised and performed by Scheherazaad Cooper and Becka McFadden with dramaturgy by Mary Ann Hushlak.
