Re-Enchant - Poetic Experiments For A New World
Work:: Re-Enchant (S02008300206)
Production:: Poetic Experiments For A New World (T1125735275)
The Cockpit's RE-ENCHANT Festival returns with a week-long programme of shows, workshops, panels and more, celebrating spoken word performance with new and established, groundbreaking UK-based poets and musicians. Building on the success of last year's inaugural event, RE-ENCHANT is expertly curated by spoken word cognoscenti Pete The Temp and Eleanor Clarke. The festival features a gloriously diverse range of voices at the forefront of the 21st century evolution of the oral tradition, including Sarah Lasoye, Barbra Brownskirt, John Hegley, and Sip + Rhyme's Joly Lick. Plus, there's discussions on working class voices in spoken word and workshops with opportunities for writing and performing your own compositions. RE-ENCHANT Festival grew out of EMERGENCE - The Cockpit's initiative for platforming emerging sounds and new talent from the worlds of jazz and beyond, part of their long-running JAZZ IN THE ROUND programme. As the world breaks down, the spoken-word recomposes consciousness and vandalises literary forms. Join us.
