United Colours of Frustrasian

United Colours of Frustrasian

Work:: United Colours of Frustrasian (S634841122)

Five artists explore their journeys in a witty and poignant exploration of identity. A man sits at a table, his heart beating like a rhythm tapped out on a tabla. With every beat he remembers a moment of his past and a dream he had for his future. Is this a midlife crisis or merely a moment of reflection? Fusing live music and storytelling, United Colours of FrustrAsian examines identity: who we are and who we might become. In an ever-polarising world where colour, faith and gender carry preconceptions, what happens when we unite and ask the question, ?are we really all that different?' Directed by Kully Thiarai (Obama The Mamba, Veil), with design from Shanaz Gulzar (Veil, Adept), United Colours of FrustrAsian features performances from Kulvinder Ghir (Goodness Gracious Me, Bend It Like Beckham), Inder Goldfinger (Fun-Da-Mental), and Ezra Khan (Trespass Against Us, National Theatre, Complicite).
