Sydney Dance Company - 6 Breaths/LA|NDforms

Sydney Dance Company

Work:: Sydney Dance Company (S1765373294)

Production:: 6 Breaths/LA|NDforms (T269818094)

For the first time since his appointment as Artistic Director of Sydney Dance Company, Rafael Bonachela will bring his new Company to the UK to present a Double Bill of UK Premieres. Barcelona-born Bonachela is a self-proclaimed ?movement junkie' whose pure movement compositions are packed with intricate and continually changing patterns, yet always inspiring emotional connections. Vividly imagined, his highly sensuous aesthetic has proved a successful new chapter for the legendary Australian contemporary dance troupe. Accolades abound, the dancers described as ?absolutely mesmerising, with their streamlined bodies, clearly defined musculature and eloquent limbs, it is clear they are reaping the benefits of strong leadership and vision.' 6 Breaths and LANDforms were each created by Bonachela in Australia to newly commissioned scores by Italian composer Ezio Bosso. 6 Breaths was acclaimed at the Biennale di Danza in Venice last year, and both works enjoyed great success at the 2011 Movimentos Festival in Germany.

CORONAVIRUS: All venues in the UK were shut down on March 16, 2020, and the restrictions were finally lifted on July 19, 2021. It is important to mention that the UK Theatre Web archive listings (iUKTDb) from March 2020 to July 2021 might not be accurate due to the lack of information regarding rescheduled and cancelled shows.
