Taking up the story from Shostakovich 100's first concert, this programme traces four further decades in Shostakovich's intimate chamber career, from the British premiere of his string-accompanied War Songs of 1941 to the late, great Violin Sonata and Viola Sonata, the latter his last completed masterpiece, written in 1975.
