Enigmatic Variations is a funny and provocative examination of love, lies and truth. A Noble Prize-winning author has adamantly steered clear of love, contenting himself with hired sex brought over to his self-imposed isolation on a northern Norwegian island. Having refused all requests for interview, he inexplicably gives in to one and the arrival of the journalist, triggers a cascade of delicious confrontations and discoveries that link the two men in a richly plotted pas de deux.
