Prom 58 - Makela conducts Symphonie fantastique

Prom 58

Work:: Prom 58 (S5995)

Part of the BBC Proms.

Production:: Makela conducts Symphonie fantastique (T537095776)

Few orchestras know Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique better than the Orchestre de Paris, which performed the work at its very first concert in 1967 and has done so at every significant milestone in its history ever since. Here France's most illustrious orchestra visits the Proms with its renowned Chief Conductor Klaus Ma¨kela¨ for a mouth-watering programme that indulges all the beauty, delicacy and emotion of French music while marking another of the most thrilling scores ever to have come out of Paris: Stravinsky's tuneful and mischievous puppet-show ballet, Petrushka. There will be an interval.
