Prom 54 - Beethoven for Three

Prom 54

Work:: Prom 54 (S5991)

Part of the BBC Proms.

Production:: Beethoven for Three (T1356905310)

Three stellar soloists come together to form a classical supergroup. Emanuel Ax, Leonidas Kavakos and Yo-Yo Ma have enjoyed a partnership stretching back a decade and now they lavish their vast gifts and experience on an all-Beethoven programme. The trio's Beethoven for Three project erases the border between orchestral and chamber music and brings greater intimacy than ever before to the composer's lively First Symphony. There's also the chance to hear this special threesome perform some of Beethoven's best-loved chamber music repertoire: his two Op. 70 piano trios, one ghostly, the other effortlessly lovable. There will be an interval.
