Glyndebourne Festival Opera makes its traditional visit to the Proms with that most red- blooded of red-blooded operas, Carmen. Bizet's musical tale of a Gypsy factory-worker who seduces a military corporal before discarding him for the more glamorous toreador has all the ingredients of a tightly sprung operatic drama. Anja Bihlmaier conducts Glyndebourne's fine cast and chorus, along with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. There will be an interval.
