Songs for Breaking Britain

Songs for Breaking Britain

Work:: Songs for Breaking Britain (S2104394835)

Hannah and her company are collecting stories - stories from people just getting by, people who don't think they're important, anyone who will stop and talk to them. Bored of the media selling our stories back to us, they are mixing up the old idea of the ballad by sharing stories and passing them on with a modern form of righteous storytelling: punk music. Three chords, rhyming couplets, lots of noise. Songs from the market place, from the street, of romance, graft, boredom, everyday defeat. Hannah will be working with Sean Arnold, a Dundee-based punk musician, best known as part of Scottish Emo band Bonehouse, and Keir Cooper, a London-based jazz punk musician who'll be on drums.

CORONAVIRUS: All venues in the UK were shut down on March 16, 2020, and the restrictions were finally lifted on July 19, 2021. It is important to mention that the UK Theatre Web archive listings (iUKTDb) from March 2020 to July 2021 might not be accurate due to the lack of information regarding rescheduled and cancelled shows.
