Faliraki - The Greek Tragedy

Faliraki - The Greek Tragedy

Work:: Faliraki - The Greek Tragedy (S401787715)

Follows the story of two under-aged lovers set against the bacchanalian revelry of this now infamous holiday resort. Faliraki features a Greek Chorus in modern prose where 'We start at the port of Stanstead, where big birds fly and foul the sky, of crowds who fight and fret for a window seat on Easyjet'. The Chorus, as with all Greek tragedies, reflects and comments on the story that unfolds, powerless to intervene. In sharp contrast to that style is your typical group of young Brits abroad - the fresh faced but not so fresh livered - alco-pop generation. Among them are two young teenagers, Carling and his soon to be girlfriend Chardonnay. They are 15 and 14 years old. What changes for this hedonistic group of tourists is a sudden curfew, as the resort around them falls apart.
