La Ronde

La Ronde

Work:: La Ronde (S3903)

A game of sexual pursuit. When originally staged (1924) it became the subject of an obscenity trial. Ten characters meet casually, make love - and move on. The prostitute and the soldier...the soldier and the chambermaid...the chambermaid and the young man...round and round in the circle game...
Author Arthur Schnitzler

Production:: (T833383831)

Spanning a hundred years Bolt Productions portrays La Ronde in the light of each changing decade from 1900 to 2000. From the echoes of the great war we journey through the immortality of the 1900's Bloomsbury set, to the sensual physical qualities of the 1920's that spins out of control in 1930's hedonism, is curbed by the war, repressed in the 50's but rediscovered in the Swinging Sixties, the new female liberation carrying through the 70's and 80's and into the new age of the closing millennium. Bolt Productions are supporting the Women's Aid ACT Campaign to raise funds and awareness with regard to domestic violence. 50% of La Ronde's profits go to Women's Aid. Website
