STAY! chronicles the rituals of a couple's tempestuous and Sado-Masochistic relationship and is loosely based upon Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and draws inspiration from the painting of Paula Rego and the film Lassie Come Home (Elizabeth Taylor's first film). Many stories about dogs are about a desire for completion - for self knowledge, for self possession, security and stability, but which also have the potential to record in the dog's death or disappearance - the fragility of such self knowledge, of self possession, security, and stability.
