Shrew

Shrew

Work:: Shrew (S0450545234)

A wry, clever and provocative twist on Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, this new piece of solo theatre explores one of literature's most vivid, intriguing, and disturbing women - the infamous Katharina at the heart of the play. As she questions why she has been written into a play where she seems doomed to misery and torment, she asks along the way what it means to be someone, what it means to be a woman, and what it means to be trapped in our own underwhelming destinies.
Author Ami Jay

Production:: (T1054701463)

Shrew made its debut at the Buxton Fringe in July last year, where Ami took home the award for Best Actor (Buxton Fringe Festival Awards) and the show was also nominated for Best Production and Best New Writing. Since then, Shrew has embarked on an exciting international tour stretching from the Edinburgh Fringe to the United Solo Festival in New York, and, most recently, the Fringe Club in Hong Kong.
