Compagnie 111/Scenes de la Terre - Les Sept Planches de la Ruse

Compagnie 111/Scenes de la Terre

Work:: Compagnie 111/Scenes de la Terre (S478606217)

Author Pierre Rigal
Performer Aurelien Bory

Production:: Les Sept Planches de la Ruse (T935716118)

Les Sept Planches de la Ruse is the spectacular new work conceived and directed by French visual theatre maestro Aurélian Bory. Based on an ancient Chinese game, the tangram, in which seven different shapes are manipulated in almost infinite combinations, the show demonstrates how geometry is capable of producing exquisite visual poetry. On stage, seven giant, interlocking forms are assembled and manoeuvred with incredible agility, strength and cunning by 14 artists from the Peking Opera Company of Dalian in China. As the performers climb, balance and vanish, scale and form distort and new images evolve evoking vivid metaphors for human experience, conjuring abstract landscapes, ravines and skyscrapers. Les Sept Planches de la Ruse is part of the London International Mime Festival and Paris Calling, a Franco-British season of performing arts. Running time 1 hr 15 mins
