Pins and Needles
Work:: Pins and Needles (S1195499232)
Spoofing everything from fascist European dictators to bigots in the Daughters of the American Revolution organisation, Pins and Needles is the hit 1937 Broadway musical review with a decidedly pro-union standpoint. Originally conceived as a small scale production for the then striking International Ladies Garment Workers Union, in a basement of a clothes factory in New York, Pins and Needles went on to be the first and only successful Broadway musical review by non-professionals. To celebrate the production's 25th anniversary, a studio recording was released featuring the then unknown Barbra Streisand.
