Pinter One Acts - Party Time/Celebration

Work:: Pinter One Acts (S862148828)

Two one-act plays by Nobel-prize winning playwright Harold Pinter - Party Time and Celebration

Production:: Party Time/Celebration (T0265823638)

Party Time - Privileged guests at an exclusive party discuss the trappings of their wealth, all the while protected from the afflictions of the impoverished masses by an unseen military force. Pinter's modern classic is a biting satire of the class system. Party Time is set in a world in which the elite view the troubles of the working classes with extreme disdain, and must protect their way of life by eradicating dissent among the proletariat at any cost. Performed by second-year Acting students. Celebration - At an upmarket restaurant in London, three couples and the restaurant staff weave a cautionary and darkly comic tale about the empty lives of the nouveau riche. Starting as a celebratory wedding anniversary meal for one of the couples, conversation turns towards sinister subjects to reveal ignorance, misogyny and lost values.
