'Let us show you glimpses of a world of fantasy and nightmares, the realm of Oz given form in fabric and stitch. Created from our imaginings, we give shape to the dreams of others.' Amicis is a group of contemporary textile artists who use a variety of embroidery techniques combined with mixed media. Their work is about time and the connections we make to our past, our culture and our beliefs. We seek to challenge the conventional view of embroidery and explore images and ideas from a range of media, including the written word, theatre and music as well as areas of fine art.
