Murley Dance

Work:: Murley Dance (S01616030271)

Production:: Hail Britannia: Highgrove Suite (T1076392021)

Murley Dance presents Hail Britannia, four original pieces that fuse theatricality with classical technique in a thought-provoking programme featuring differing aspects of British culture. The world premi?re of these newly commissioned pieces range from the typical English country garden to quirky place names, from the complex relationship between a King and his priest to the global influences that define multicultural Britain today. The centrepiece of the programme will be Highgrove Suite, choreographed by David Murley and with music by leading British composer, Patrick Hawes. This new ballet is inspired by the gardens at Highgrove, HRH The Prince of Wales's country home. Up and coming nineteen year-old choreographer Richard Chappell will explore the turbulent and ultimately tragic relationship between Henry II and Thomas a Becket in a piece that is both intensely physical and compelling.
