The Dinky Do's are down in the dumps. The summer season is over, the manager has run off with the piano player and the cash box, and their winter tour is in tatters. Then destiny takes a hand in the shape of three unlikely-looking angels who join the company looking for 'a bit of life'. With Miss Trant's money, Inigo Jollifant's sparkling songs and Jess Oakroyd's skill with a spanner, The Good Companions are born. Follows the trials and triumphs of our travelling troupe, from desperation at the Winter Gardens to the splendours of the Pier Pavilion, and finally the pitched battle at the Theatre Royal, Tewborough...Will they follow their dream to the heady heights of London's glittering West End or will they settle for a summer season in Eastbourne.
