Richard (Slacker) Linklater's ambitious Walking Life probes at the nature of reality, in the realm of our dreams. We watch someone in a dream-state meet others, ask questions, receive answers, then drift on, knowing a little more, yet losing things as well. More or less what happens in life. Linklater's biggest achievements is the technical feat of turning all the original film and video footage (shot in 25 days) into movie graphics over 9 months, thereby turning the whole exercise into a vast animation. Described by Linklater as 'a film about something that mostly happens entirely in the mind Waking Life breaks new ground with every frame.
