Summer 1816. A stormy night by Lake Geneva. To while away the time, a house party of English visitors, including the poets Shelley and Byron, challenge one another to make up a ghost story. Some nights later Mary Shelley, the poet's young wife, has a nightmare which forms the basis for her story Frankenstein.
