Swimming at the Ritz

Swimming at the Ritz

Work:: Swimming at the Ritz (S01201384715)

Swimming at the Ritzor Men, Money, Politics, & Me centers on Pamela Churchill Harriman (Winston's ex-daughter-in-law and widow of Averell Harriman) who in 1995 is holed up in the Paris Ritz preparing to auction her possessions in order to raise million. She needs the money to repay the trust fund she administered for Harriman's grandchildren. During her fascinating life Pamela rose from being the elder daughter of a lesser British baron, to meeting Hitler, to being the apple-of-Winston's-eye during WWII, to Ambassador to France under President Clinton. She was often referred to as "the 20th Century's greatest courtesan."
