Ricochet Dance Company - Elsewhere/Real Deal

Work:: Ricochet Dance Company (S902)

Production:: Elsewhere/Real Deal (T01803981805)

Ricochet’s dance curator Karin Fisher-Potisk has commissioned a double-bill for her company from two choreographers whose work is new to the UK - Jan Pusch (Hamburg) and Wally Cardona (New York) - and invited multi-tasking musician Daniel Mudford of The Sons of Silence to play live on the night. Wally Cardona alters the energy of urban streets, adding ‘just the right balance of commitment and cool’ (New York Times). In Elsewhere the dancers initiate journeys in relation to a series of tangible objects, creating dynamics which resonate both on an architectural and human scale. Jan Pusch is one of Germany’s foremost dance-makers, building a distinct, articulate physicality around conceptual ideas. real deal explores one of the archetypal human struggles - will versus destiny - and challenges Ricochet’s five outstanding dancers, Ben Ash, Robin Dingemans, Karin Fisher-Potisk, Lizzy LeQuesne and Rahel Vonmoos to question their fate.

CORONAVIRUS: All venues in the UK were shut down on March 16, 2020, and the restrictions were finally lifted on July 19, 2021. It is important to mention that the UK Theatre Web archive listings (iUKTDb) from March 2020 to July 2021 might not be accurate due to the lack of information regarding rescheduled and cancelled shows.
