Details

Powerful rhythms of Indian dance combine with delicacy of gesture and mime to evoke a story of wit and wisdom. 'Tending the Fire' is a new interpretation of a Native American creation myth retold by Canadian poet Robert Brighurst. The story celebrates the gifts given to human through a dialogue between an old women and a dog. Sanchari, a partnership of dancers Bisakha Sarker and Sanjeevini Dutta, are evolving a unique style of narrative in which dance, music and spoken word cross cultural boundaries to reach the heart and soul of the audience.
