Athletes of the Heart - T1553147484

Cyberspace confessions of darkest dreams and desires give rise to this haunting work that pulsates with passionate physicality, bittersweet irony, 1000 feather pillows, a drag king and a man who cries at too much beauty. DON JUAN. WHO? is about men and women and why we still fight. It’s about seduction, love, sex, power, fear of intimacy and the Man who never stays for breakfast. With over sixty million three hundred thousand web hits for his name, why does Don Juan still grip us all? An innovative European project, ‘Don Juan. Who?’ was written in live encounters (anonymous ‘masquerades’) in a specially commissioned, private ‘cyber studio’ between Slovenia, Italy and the UK, over 18 months. The text was then whittled down to create a timeless scenario where sexual politics are sweated out on a red carpet by this ensemble of charismatic actors and dancers. Following sell-out performances in Mladinsko Ljubljana and previews at the Shunt Vaults, the production can be seen at Riverside Studios for 4 performances only as part of FeEast 2008.Choreographer Anna Furse.
