Part one of a brand new full length ballet Arthur. Arthur based on the Arthurian legends has been specially choreographed by the company's artistic director David Bintley to mark the very last performance on stage at the Birmingham Hippodrome before the theatre embarks on an extended interval to enable work to continue on the &Pound;28.8 million Hippodrome 2000 Development. In a land wracked by hate and fear an unknown boy proves his right to wear the bitter crown of power. Backed by forces of magic, can Arthur conquer evil, or is he too flawed by human weaknesses to succeed? The survival of his kingdom and his own life as monarch are dependent on the powers that he holds, as he acts out his destiny.
