The play draws on the themes of Antigone, transplanting Sophocles' exploration of the nature of individualism into a modern-day classroom. As the schools vie with each other for their place on the league table, so too do the pupils, engaged in the ritual dance of deciding who's the coolest, brightest, the best looking. Award winning playwright Mike Kenny writes a contemporary epic drama for Classworks. This dynamic collaboration is developing a special relationship between the cutting edge of young people's participatory theatre and the adult professional theatre ensemble.
