Details
In April 1997, I Fagiolini, the Oxford based solo voice ensemble, spent two weeks in South Africa with the SDASA Chorale, a 16 piece male gospel choir from Soweto. Together, they created a remarkable fusion of a capella singing. Zulu chant backs a traditional English round; a medieval gospel text is sung in the isicatamiya style made famous by Ladysmith Black Mambazo; African hymnody meets eight part motets.
