The Telling: Carols Through Time - T1462932833Candlelit concert of traditional & medieval carols from around Europe featuring a potent mix of all-time favourites and magical unknown gems, as featured on The Telling's Secret Life of Carols CD - David Mellor's (Classic FM) "absolute favourite" Christmas CD of 2019. The performance will be accompanied by animations specially created by Kate Anderson. There will also be a workshop from 3-3.45pm where you can sing together. Blondel: Sit Fast - Tying the Knot - T01880422942This year Blondel are putting the shawms to one side for a moment while they venture into the wonderfully mellow world of the curtal (or dulcian) consort. These ancestors of the bassoon were invented in the 16th century and we're using a combination of the alto, tenor and bass instruments, as well as recorders and bagpipes, to explore some beautiful late 16th and early 17th century repertoire including variations on top tunes of the period "Browning", "Elselein", "Le jeune fillette" and "La Gamba".Performer Emily Banes (curtals).
