An Irish Twilight archivePeter O'Brien has prepared this very special concert to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of his father John (Jack) O'Brien on 23 November 1899. The concert traces 100 years of music and memories through father and son - from the early days of this century when the lyrical voice of John McCormack and the rich violin tone of Fritz Kreisler filled the concert halls of Dublin and the world. Then on through the war years when the writings of Brian O'Nolan kept a smile in Irish eyes - to the final November of this century.
