A costermonger is suddenly elevated to the peerage. Lambeth Walk, The Sun Has Got His Hat On, Me and My Girl and other songs. First seen in 1937, when it ran for an amazing 1646 performances, Me and My Girl swept first London's West End and subsequently Broadway in the mid 1970's following its updating by Stephen Fry and Mike Ockrent, and proceeded to win almost every award going.
