A Busy Day

A Busy Day

Work:: A Busy Day (S0818242325)

Two heiresses, one an aristocrat, the other borne of New Money, aspire to marry the same man...but for very different reasons. In this glorious slice of Regency life, one finds herself introduced to the fast, witty and often ridiculous world of London society - while the other discovers that she doesn't rule it in the quite the way she thought..In her time, the Bath novelist, playwright and diarist Fanny Burney was more famous and fashionable than the writer she inspired - Jane Austen. A Busy Day was written in 1799, but lay neglected unperformed for nearly 200 years before the original manuscript was discovered in America and subsequently given its British premiere by Bristol's Show of Strength Theatre Company.
Author Fanny Burney
