Details

This exhibition, named 'Dual Presence' after its two creators, is a collection of work gathered from the last decade. Kamaljit Kaur and Maggie Campbell are both art psychotherapists as well as painters and the impact of the mind and of the relationships between interior and exterior terrains are manifest in their work, although the two have very different styles. Campbell's themes chart violence, sex and guilt through to sorrow, love and redemption, and her paintings pursue mythic re-enactments within primal landscapes. Kaur is concerned with self and dual images, her work reflecting the contradictions and divisions within the mind.
