Formed in Liverpool by singer Gary Daly and guitarist Eddie Lundon, they distilled their love of David Bowie and Steely Dan into an exquisitely melancholy post-punk sound that saw them win their just chart rewards. Gail Hall (02Oct23): Saw China Crisis at Barnard Castle at the weekend and what a concert that was. Small venue, that felt so personal, music was brilliant (you still got it guys) and the comedy between songs had us all it fits of laughter, loved the fact you asked us to join in, loved you when I was 16 and love you still at 56 - can't wait to see you again!! 5
